Sermon Overview
Reidhead challenges the "Clergy-Laity" divide. He argues that the "Work of the Ministry" is the responsibility of every believer, while the "Gifts" (Pastor, Teacher, etc.) are meant to "equip" the saints for that labor. True ministry is presented as the manifestation of Christ's life through the members of His Body in daily life.
Key Principles
Believer Priesthood:Accept your role as a "Priest unto God"; stop waiting for "clergy" to do the work of the Kingdom.
Equipping for Service:Seek out teaching and gifts that "equip" you for actual labor, not just for personal enjoyment.
Edifying in Love:Make the "building up of others" your primary goal in every church interaction.
Contributor Mindset:Transition from being a "consumer" of religious services to a "contributor" to the harvest.
Fullness of Christ: Make "The Stature of the Fullness of Christ" the only goal for your spiritual development.
Functioning Part:Accept that you are a "Functioning Part" of the Body; your inactivity hinders the whole.
Unity of Faith: Work toward the "Unity of the Faith"—a common mind based on shared Truth.
Co-laboring with God:Treat every act of service as a literal partnership with the Living God.
