Sermon Overview
In this two-part series, Reidhead explores the Cross as the "Legal Center of History." Part 1 focuses on the victory over the "Penalty" and "Power" of sin. Part 2 focuses on the "Disarming of Principalities" and the "Judgment of the World." He argues that the Cross is not a "defeat" that turned into a victory, but a "pre-meditated triumph" where Christ "triumphed over them in it."
Key Principles
Legal Satisfaction:Base your peace on the "Legal Satisfaction" of Justice; your debt was fully and finally paid.
Disarming Powers:Stand in the victory of Colossians 2:15; realize the enemy has been "disarmed" and "exposed."
Execution of Self: Use the Cross to "execute" your self-will daily; refuse to let the old man off the tree.
Finished Triumph:Stop "fighting for" victory; "stand" in the finished triumph of Christ in every daily conflict.
World-System Victory:Use the Cross to "sever the cord" that binds your ambitions to the values of the world (Cosmos).
Open Show of Defeat:Refuse to be intimidated by the enemy; remind him that he was made a "public spectacle" at Calvary.
Finished Work Stand:When tempted, do not "fight for" victory; "stand" in the legal triumph Christ has already won.
Missions Key: Realize the Cross has legally "unlocked" the nations; use this authority to go to the unreached.
