Sermon Overview
In this 3-part series, Reidhead confronts the "Humanistic" view of life that seeks personal happiness as the highest goal. He argues that the "Full Meaning of Life" is found only when man becomes a "Means to God's End." He explores our origin, our fall, and our restoration, concluding that we exist to be a "Reflection of the Divine Character" to a perishing world.
Key Principles
Counsel of God: Rest in the fact that your origin is not random; you were conceived in the "Eternal Counsel of God."
Tragedy of the Fall:Acknowledge the depth of the Fall as a total loss of your original purpose and divine image.
Theocentric Restoration: Aim for a "God-centered" life where your primary goal is to be a reflection of His character.
Instrument of God:View yourself as an "instrument" for God’s manifestation rather than a "client" of His services.
Chief End of Man:Adopt the Westminster standard as your daily motto: "To Glorify Godand enjoy Him forever."
Fulfillment/Abandonment:Discover that "true fulfillment" is only found when you have totally abandoned your own plans.
Brief Life Apprenticeship: Treat your time on earth as a "short school" where you learn to love and serve the Father.
Final Expression: Make "Missions" (reaching the unreached) the final and highest expression of your life's meaning.
