Sermon Overview

Reidhead distinguishes between "decisionism" (a mental choice) and "salvation by revelation." He argues that no one can say "Jesus is Lord" except by the Spirit. This revelation is a crisis event where the sinner sees Christ’s worth and their own depravity, resulting in a total and joyful surrender of the will.

Key Principles

Not Flesh and Blood:Accept that you cannot "reason" someone into the Kingdom; salvation requires a divine "reveal."

Miracle vs. Choice:Treat your conversion as a "supernatural miracle" performed by God, not just a psychological choice.

Spirit's Unveiling: Ask the Spirit to "unveil" the Savior to the lost; rely on Him as the primary "Evangelist."

Conviction via Light:Realize that true conviction only comes when the "Light of Revelation" exposes the heart's darkness.

Head Knowledge Error:Warn yourself that knowing "about" Jesus is the greatest rival to actually "knowing" Him by revelation.

Internal Witness: Look for the "Internal Knowing" of the Truth that comes only through the Spirit's testimony.

Revelation to Surrender: Expect every "Revelation of Christ" to be followed by a "New Act of Surrender" of your will.

Security in God: Rest in the "God-wrought" nature of your salvation; realize that what He reveals, He also preserves.
