Sermon Overview

Reidhead argues that most prayer fails because it is "Anthropocentric" (man-centered). He calls for a shift in perspective where the primary goal of prayer is the "Hallowing of God’s Name" and the "Coming of His Kingdom." When we pray from God's perspective, our requests align with His sovereign purposes, and we find the "boldness" that comes from knowing we ask according to His will.

Model Perspective: Use the "Lord’s Prayer" to re-orient your petitions from "Man-centered" to "God-centered."

From Need to Glory:Shift your prayer focus from "meeting my need" to "satisfying God’s glory."

Eternal Viewpoint:Evaluate your requests by how they impact eternity, not just your present comfort.

Spirit’s Correction:Allow the Holy Spirit to "edit" your selfish prayers until they align with the Father’s will.

Identifying Self-Interest:Perform a "selfishness audit" on your prayer list; strip away requests for "self-ease."

Sovereignty Rest: Find total "Rest" in your prayer life by trusting that God's sovereignty always works for His glory.

Weapon of Kingdom:Use prayer as an offensive "weapon" to reclaim territory and souls from the enemy.

Heart Alignment: Aim to have your "heart-beat" synchronized with the "Father’s heart-beat" for the world.
