God’s Plan for Your Life

After leaving his full time pastorate in New York City, Paris Reidhead spent much of his time preaching at churches and mission-mobilizing conferences for many denominations, both in the United States and beyond. 

“God’s Plan for Your Life” was preached in 1970 at a summer convention in Whitfield, New Jersey, at America’s Keswick.  (The Keswick Convention had beguan in 1875 as a catalyst and focal point for the emerging Higher Life movement in the United Kingdom, and later spread to America.) "All One in Christ Jesus" is still the Cconvention's watchword. 

Paris Reidhead was passionate about exhorting Christians to live the life that God intended for them.  He longed for every follower of Christ to understand that God’s plan includes a place for each one of us where we can be a part of something far bigger than ourselves and where we will all participate in God’s redemption of the world.    

Responding to God’s call will not only fulfill the longings of our souls, but will also bring glory to God and joy to our hearts.  He understood that ministry is not a vocation for a few but a calling for all.  The church that fixated on its own existence and the individual who put his own comfort and ahead of God’s calls brought a sense of grief to Paris Reidhead’s heart. He preached that there is no place for complacency in the Christian journey: we are each called into relationship with God so that “we shall be witnesses.” The source of our ability to witness rests in our in-filling by the Spirit of the Living God.
